It's just a regular storytelling technique. A story needs conflict, and it emphasises the conflict while creating suspense when the protagonist fails before he succeeds.

Many of Deadpool's successes have tended to be ambivalent in the past, so if pure gratification is your thing then you should at least pleased that both Games of Death and Suicide Kings ended with Deadpool being a clear winner.

Deadpool used to be the badas that got only D'd by the very best. And under some certian circumstances , nor this bad.

True, Benson writes Deadpool good but always has to have him getting his ass handed to him. At least with Way you know thats not going to happen.

Barberi's art is pretty great, still no Medina. I'm liking the idea of a new creative team every month should be intersting.
