Hmm, the directing style, especially the action scenes are really fun, but the style of humor is a bit too...eh, not 'serious' I guess is a good way to explain it.

I guess if Goyer writes it and they stick to his style of humor, mostly wordplay and sarcasm/dark etc like in Blade Trinity, with pop culture references of course, and just used him as a director and stuck to Goyer's idea it could work.

Gotta go with Capo_Del_Bandito on X-3's sucktasticness. Ratner admited that he crammed characters in just to give parts to his friends, which ultimatly prevented anyone from getting enough focus to be developed. He's singlehandely responsible for turning Psylocke into a bad guy, the writers had nothing to do with it. Keep him away.

No no, it was a bad movie. Period. It's up there with Transformers 2 in the 'let's focus on shiny CGI and gargantuan plot holes and no real development instead of producing a good movie" department.

Producer I'd say go with Avi Arid, or however you spell it. He has a great respect for the character, even before Deadpool became a big name. And his son's an even bigger fan, so there'd be a die hard fan hopefully near or on the set and saying "Hey dad, hey DAD they're doing it wrong". Or something.

Director? I dunno. Part of me wants Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz) director, but only if he'd keep the slapstick to minimum. He can do the cerebral as well as the in your face funny, as well as dark and gritty when it's called for.

The other part of me says get a newbie with talent.

X3 wasn't that bad. Yeah it sucked compared to the other X movies, but I think the guy could possibly pull it off. But I will agree about the slapstick stuff. Plus David Goyer deserves to be something on the project if you payed attention to the last post. Who do think would be an adequate to be producer and director?

Let's not forget that in regards to The Dark Knight, Goyer is a cowriter. Chris and Jonothan Nolan get equal credit for the story and script respectivly.

Maybe Quentin Tarantino would be willing to do it. Or maybe the guy from District 9, which had dark humor, good acting and story, action and a real soul to it.

the team x part was probably my favorite segment of the film. it didn't feel like it lasted long enough, yet the whole movie kinda felt like that, it was too rushed and was set at too rapid of a pace. i do have a question about that though. was wade supposed to be a mutant before he was experimented on or was he just fucking fast enough to slice bullets and shit. god they fucked up deadpool.

I'd be happy with the 4th wall stuff if it was done like in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Like, for instance, when the heroes fight the Tinkerer in one of the last missions, and you have Deadpool:

"You should have taken up (spoiler)'s offer, Deadpool!

Yeah, like I even had the chance! The writers said something about branching conversations and whatnot..." or something like that. Make subtle references, you know?

Ratner focuses more on slapstick instead of dark humor. And the fact that X3 sucked more than "kinda".

While Goyer can get a decent thought down on paper, i'm not sure he's the mind you wanna put on something that should be dark and humorous with action overtones. Batman and Blade movies aren't exactly something that are in the same category as a Deadpool movie. It should be dark, gritty to a degree, with action as well.

The humor in Blade Trinity (where Goyer directed) was also cartoonish/slapstick, something Deadpool should only be slightly, not constantly.
